Head of Content Marketing


In this role, you will manage, execute on and strategize around our brand marketing. At quip this encompasses mediums ranging across daily (unpaid) social media, weekly web blog, monthly email newsletter, quarterly printed content and other seasonal or partner based campaigns. quip was created to improve our members’ oral health by making oral care more enjoyable, desirable and relatable – our content platforms are pivotal to this mission and while they are currently in their early days, they will start to play a huge role within the company in 2017 and beyond.  

Success in this role will rely on a refined taste level and ability to collaborate with our in house creative and paid marketing teams as well as with select external partners when necessary. In addition to maintaining and developing our signature brand voice and style, you will be expected to analyze top performing social and blog content to optimize each channel to serve both engaging and revenue-generating content. An acute awareness of emerging trends both on popular culture and in platforms and creative styling should come naturally and strategic foresight on how we should apply those is key.

You should have a proven ability to generate premium content (visual and editorial), excellent judgment and a collaborative creative approach, in addition to superb organization, communication and project management skills, a passion for connecting with customers and a knack for handling difficult situations with swiftness, grace and patience.


Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute our social media content, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube & others.
  • Plan and execute our blog content and determine best practices for leveraging the content to drive business goals
  • Live and breathe our brand voice and style guides, and continue to develop them through content and alongside our graphic / brand designers.
  • Be competent enough in writing to handle copy across marketing and social posts for times when a dedicated professional is not used
  • Collaborate closely with the rest of the marketing team and the creative team for rapid and seamless execution.
  • Conduct regular and thorough analyses of top performing creative, copy, and content types.
  • Compile weekly/monthly reports summarizing performance.
  • Monitor customer service inquiries via all social channels and work hand-in-hand with our customer service team to fully resolve issues, feedback and questions. Our customers shop 24/7, so these duties are not limited to office hours.

This might describe you:

  • 3-5 years of business experience; at least two years of experience in social media marketing at an agency or on the internal team of a respected brand. E-commerce experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience leveraging analytics to draw conclusions and influence existing and future content plans.
  • The ability to effectively manage timelines and coordinate internal and external teams to deliver results.
  • Superb communication skills and ability to create strong relationships across functions and geographies.
  • Quick-thinking, creative, hands-on, stress-tolerant, problem-solver. Start-up experience is a bonus!
  • Understanding of marketing metrics including engagement rates, cost per order, ROI, and cost of acquisition.
  • Photo editing experience a bonus. Basic Google Analytics preferred.
