We are looking for a Director of Finance or part-time CFO that can bring an experienced, managerial rigor to our overall financial performance while simultaneously handling many of the focused tasks to achieve that performance. The in-house position is in direct view of becoming an influential core team member as our company’s growth targets are achieved and personnel infrastructure is built out (with your help); until then this is a hands-on role working directly with the founders. You should have particular strengths in building management tools, modeling behavior, and driving organization with powerful Excel spreadsheets.
You’ll be implementing and ensuring compliance with internal financial reporting, including bookkeeping, payroll, and coordination with 3rd parties on tax preparation. Additionally, you’ll be setting budgets, marketing spend, figuring unit economics, and syncing with operations on demand planning and supply logistics to optimize working capital. Fundamentally, you’ll be the domain expert on anything and everything that can be tracked quantitatively. This means you’ll be working with every team inside quip to bring a level of quantitative command and control to guide decision making.
Your work will be the foundation of how quip presents itself to every outside investor, lender, major retailers, and bank. Experience with fundraising and due diligence is a plus and you should expect to meet and work with outside investors to present our company and show off our performance.
